ATA Chapter #5 meets on the second Wednesday of the month, except December, when we have our Christmas/Holiday Party. Dues are $5.00 per year. Visitors are welcome-free. After business meetings, activities and programs are "thematic" in nature, usually a member will give a program on whatever their topical collection is.

These one-page exhibits developed by our members showcase the breadth of topical collecting:

Next Previous Based on a study of 10 donkey skeletons from 3 graves of the first Pharoahs of Egypt, it is believed that donkeys were in an early stage of domestication around 5000 years ago. On the other hand horses appeared to have been domesticated about 4000 years ago, although recent discoveries may have put that date at 6000 years ago. Man domesticated animals to be used as beasts of burden to relieve himself of such tasks. This lovely cover dramatically points out how important both the horse and the donkey have been to man in recent history. The horses will carry man and the donkeys will carry his supplies. Mongolia and India issued a joint issue with identical designs commemorating both the horse and the donkey in art. This art indicates the prominent place these animals had in the history of man.
