Annual Convention of the Wisconsin Federation of Stamp Clubs
August 8-11, 2013
Delta Center, 400 W. Wisconsin Ave., Milwaukee
In favor of the opportunity to promote Wisconsin philately and clubs at the Wisconsin Room of the American Philatelic Society's Convention and StampShow, the WFSC board has decided to forego an exhibition (WISCOPEX) this year.
Our annual convention will be held during StampShow at the Delta Center in Milwaukee, on Saturday, August 10 at 11:30 a.m. The Wisconsin Federation of Stamp Clubs will offer gemutlichkeit galore all four days of the American Philatelic Society StampShow, Aug. 8-11 at the Delta Center in downtown Milwaukee.
Highlights include gifts at the WFSC Society Booth JJ and a full schedule of events at the Wisconsin Connection Room 201-C.
Visitors to the federation's booth can pick up four commemorative cinderella stamps, one for each day of the show, and an "ABCs of Wisconsin" booklet of state lore, illustrated with stamps.
The federation will offer for sale convention covers (pictured at top) and a Folk Art Eagle cacheted first-day cover (below) featuring Wisconsin's "Old Abe," the Civil War Union Army eagle mascot.

The stamped envelope is a No. 6¾ cover and available by mail order for $3 each. Make checks payable to WFSC and include a No. 10 self-addressed stamped envelope. The commemorative convention covers (example at top) vary for each of the four days of the convention with a different color logo and cinderella stamp. To mail order, send $2 ea. ($8 for set of four). Make checks payable to the WFSC and include a No. 10 stamped, addressed envelope. Requests for specific singles cannot be honored.
The cinderella stamps (below) are available only as a block of four. Cost is $1 per block. Follow instructions above for payment and SASE.
Send orders to Karen Weigt, 4184 Rose Ct., Middleton, WI 53562

Twenty-one meetings or seminars by speakers with a Wisconsin connection — five to seven each day — will be presented in Room 201-C.
Two stamp collectors with Wisconsin ties will be inducted to the Wisconsin Philatelic Hall of Fame during the WFSC business meeting. Elected by vote of the member clubs, they are Cheryl Ganz of Washington, D.C. (born in Washington Island, Wis.), who is chief curator of philately at the Smithsonian National Postal Museum; and Steve Kluskens, webmaster for the WFSC website. He was born in Niagara, Wis., and remains a member of the Northwoods Philatelic Society, Iron Mountain, Mich.
Established in 1975, the Hall of Fame recognizes prominent Wisconsin philatelists (living and deceased) for their contributions to the hobby of philately in the State of Wisconsin and beyond. Members gather every five years for a reunion. This year, collectors are invited to the Wisconsin Philatelic Hall of Fame celebration, a social hour at the Hyatt Regency bar area, Friday, Aug. 9 at 6 p.m.
